Peugeot plans to launch the all-electric e-3008 in autumn 2023. The electric SUV is to be based on the eVMP platform and it will be equipped with battery cells from the Automotive Cell Company (ACC). This results from a report by the French website "L'Argus". Yann Vincent, Managing Director of the Automotive Cells Company, said that the eVMP platform is to be equipped with ACC batteries. Also, the battery cells will only be available in limited quantities from the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024.

Automotive Cells Company (ACC) is a new joint venture between PSA/Opel and Total/Saft.

The French are currently in the process of setting up a new line for cell production in south-west France. However, this is basically the precursor for series cell production, which is then planned in Douvrin in northern France and in Kaiserslautern at Opel. Battery cell series production is to begin on the French side in 2023 and on the German side in 2024. Production is planned for up to 24 GWh.

The Peugeot 3008 is one of the most popular SUVs on the European continent. Its latest update has just landed on the market, with a multitude of interesting developments. The Peugeot e-3008's new battery cell will have a capacity that will range between 60 and 100 kWh, depending on the version, and autonomy ranges between 400 and 650 km.

The eVMP platform is designed for front-wheel and all-wheel drives with up to 250 kW of power. So far, PSA has manufactured its electrified cars on the CMP (for smaller vehicles) and EMP2 (C and D segment) platforms.
