Imagination became reality when the concept car known as the BMW iNEXT became the BMW iX all-electric SUV. The new BMW iX is the first model based on BMW Group's new, modular and scalable platform, specifically designed for sustainability, driving pleasure, versatility and luxury.

The BMW iX is designed solely for an all-electric drive system. The electric driveline is manufactured in a sustainable way, without the use of rare metals. The batteries in the BMW iX are designed for a long-term life cycle and the energy used to manufacture battery cells comes exclusively from renewable materials.

The BMW iX is about as long and wide as a BMW X5, as tall as a BMW X6 and has the same rims as BMW X7 (21 inches or 22 inches).

The BMW iX also stands out with distinctive elements such as frameless doors, pressure-sensitive door openers, distinctive wheel arches, and a tailgate that covers the entire rear of the car. The characteristic blue colour reappears in several exterior details. Optionally, the BMW iX also comes with an exterior design package that gives the car a sportier look.

The technology used in BMW's iX electric SUV sets a new digital standard with the latest advances in autonomous driving and connectivity. This means that computer performance has been upgraded to be able to process 20 times bigger data volumes than previous models, and also improved sensor system and 5G capacity.

Technical specifications:

Engine power: Over 500 hp
Driveline: eAWD (electric four-wheel drive with two electric motors)
0 - 100 km / h: Under 5.0 seconds
Maximum speed: 200 km / h
Range: over 600 km (WLTP)
Charging times: (DC fast charge: 10- 80%: for 40 minutes), (AC 11 kW: 0 - 100%: for 11 hours)
Battery capacity: over 100 kWh
Consumption: less than 21 kWh per 100 km.

The speaker system is invisibly integrated into the interior.

The real audiophiles are advised to choose the Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System, which takes the sound experience to a new level. With an active sound system with five individual sound profiles, a total of 30 speakers, eight of which are integrated into the headrests in the front and rear seats, and a separate 4D audio function through magnetic vibrations in the front seats, the concert experience should not be far away in a BMW iX.

During the second half of 2021, the BMW iX will be released on the market. Production will start in Dingolfing, Germany next summer.

From 2020 to 2021, the all-electric BMW i family will be expanded from the BMW i3 to the BMW iX3, BMW iX and BMW i4. In other words, BMW will offer four different electric cars in 2021.
