It has been 25 years since the Renault Kangoo was introduced, and Renault has created a new car segment for family cars. A car with a lot of space, sliding doors, and a boxy style immediately became popular, particularly among families with children. The Renault Kangoo van stood for spaciousness and practicality, which was essential to the family.

The new Renault Kangoo is a huge international success as a light transport vehicle. In 50 countries, 4.4 million copies have been sold. The new Renault Kangoo passenger car is now available as an electric van for the first time.

Everything that the Renault Kangoo is famous for is also available in an electric van version. That means the same amount of freedom and room. With all seats up, the luggage capacity is 850 liters; when the backseats are folded, the capacity increases to 2,500 liters.

The Renault Kangoo Family electric van can tow 1500 kilos for clients who own a caravan, for example.

The Renault Kangoo Family E-tech Electric van has a 45 kWh lithium-ion battery with a range of up to 285 kilometers (WLTP). The battery has an 8-year warranty or 160,000 kilometers.

The electric engine of the new Renault Kangoo Family E-tech Electric produces 90 kW (about 125 horsepower) and 245 Nm of torque for smooth driving. If the user wishes to exceed the WLTP values, an ECO mode can be selected, which limits the peak speed to 110 (rather than 135) and the number of horsepower to 76 hp.

To expand the range even further, the Renault Kangoo E-tech Electric includes a dual-zone air conditioning system powered by an efficient heat pump with low energy usage.

The Renault Kangoo Family E-tech Electric comes standard with two charging options: a 22 kW AC three-phase charger and an 80 kW DC fast charger, which delivers a 170 km range in 30 minutes.

The Renault Kangoo Family E-tech Electric, like the diesel or petrol variants, comes with several safety features, such as adaptive cruise control and active lane-keeping aid. It is, of course, fitted with six airbags. The electric van will be unveiled to the public and journalists at the Paris Motor Show.

The new Renault Kangoo Family electric van will be available in the spring of 2023, along with an extended variant with seven seats. Prices have not yet been set.
