The Opel Vivaro-e is the fully electric variant of the light commercial van from Opel. It will hit the market next year.

As part of its PACE! Strategic plan, Opel will develop eight electrified cars by 2021. At the same time, among those eight electric cars is the Opel Vivaro-e, the 100% electric version of the light commercial van. This strategic plan includes a fully electrified product portfolio in 2024.

Based on the PSP Group's EMP2 modular platform, the new Vivaro-e will hit the market in 2020 with two different battery options. The version with the lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 50 kWh will be able to travel up to 201 kilometers on a single charge, while the 75 kWh version will increase its autonomy up to 298 kilometers, data approved by the new WLTP cycle. How strong the engine will be exactly, is currently not known.

Just like the standard Vivaro, the electric version will also be available in the three exterior lengths of 4.60 meters, 4.95 meters and 5.30 meters.

By 2021, the range of light commercial vehicles of the German car manufacturer will be expanded with the arrival of the Opel Combo Life, the Opel Combo Cargo, and the Opel Zafira Life, all of them with their respective electrified versions.

At the moment no more details of the Opel Vivaro-e have been specified, such as the power of your engine or if its new configuration will affect its load capacity.

The passenger version of the Opel Vivaro, the Zafira Life, gets a version a year later. Electric versions of the more compact Combo and Combo Life will follow in 2021.

As for Opel, the company expects to continue increasing the supply of electrified vehicles within the strategic plan PACE! , which contemplates the arrival of other models.

Opel continues to electrify its product range. "By 2024, all Opel series will be electrified. Then customers can choose an E version for each of our models, "says Brand Director Michael Lohscheller.

More and more commercial vehicles for the so-called last mile are being electrified. E-mobility seems to be particularly useful here, which is why Opel's move to offer its vans as pure e-cars is only consistent and safe.
