A few months after the world launch of Ioniq 5 in February 2021, the first electric cars have already arrived in Europe. The Ioniq 5 is already a glorious success for Hyundai, and after the world launch, it soon became obvious that the dedicated electric car established new records for Hyundai. Never before has a car from the Hyundai brand generated more enthusiasm from European customers right after its launch than IONIQ 5.

The greatest interest in the European market was probably among Norwegian customers, who had already shown enormous engagement before the world launch. As many as 14,000 people had placed pre-orders. The Ioniq 5 electric car was available in a limited volume of 3,000 units for five European markets; France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany and Norway.

Normal sales of Ioniq 5 started on Monday 3 May with very engaging prices for the revolutionary electric car, and a large number of customers have already signed deals.

From the start, the Ioniq 5 electric crossover is offered with a large battery, a full equipment package as standard and the choice between rear or four-wheel drive.

The Ioniq 5 is a spacious electric crossover in the popular family segment and is the first model out on Hyundai's brand new dedicated electric car model portfolio IONIQ. The brand new car sets a new standard and redefines the electric car market with its innovative and groundbreaking features.

The Ioniq 5 is built on Hyundai's brand new dedicated electric car platform E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) and pushes the boundaries of proportions with its extremely long wheelbase of as much as 3,000 millimetres. The electric crossover is located midway between TUCSON and SANTA FE in Hyundai's model portfolio and is a very spacious family car with its 4,635 mm in length and 1,890 mm in width. The crossover has a solid ground clearance of 160 mm, and a full 170 mm up to the battery pack. The wheelbase and width mean that the interior is roomy like a car in the class above, ie in the D SUV segment.

Thanks to the all-new E-GMP dedicated electric car platform, IONIQ 5 can deliver a groundbreaking combination of long-range and ultra-fast charging. The electric car has support for charging at both 400V and 800V completely without adapters or converters and thus offers the world's first multi-charge system of its kind.

On a fast charger, IONIQ 5 can be charged from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes. It takes less than 5 minutes to charge 100 kilometres extra range (WLTP).

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 also has a unique V2L (Vehicle to Load) technology, which allows you to charge or use 220V devices. For example, you can charge an electric scooter or bicycle in the trunk while driving, or provide power to electrical devices if you are camping.

The Ioniq 5 Long Range has a range of up to 481 kilometres as a rear-wheel-drive and up to 460 kilometres as a four-wheel drive. With rear-wheel drive, the electric car delivers 350 Nm of torque and 217 horsepower. In the version with four-wheel drive, this is increased to a full 605 Nm of torque, 305 horsepower. Also, it runs 0-100 km / h in 7.4 and 5.2 seconds respectively.

The Ioniq 5 Long Range can tow a trailer of 1,600 kg, regardless of whether the car has rear or four-wheel drive. Combined with the flexibility and interior space, this makes the IONIQ 5 one of the real leaders in the electric family car segment.

The Ioniq 5 also offers lots of new technology and several completely new equipment components. Among other things, the car has a 44-inch augmented reality head-up display, in addition to our brand new and very comfortable relaxation seats that can be returned to a zero-gravity position. The electric crossover is of course also equipped with the very latest in active driver assistance and safety systems, as well as comprehensive sound attenuation and comfort elements as well as BOSE sound systems.
