The company eeMobility, which specializes in charging solutions for electrified company cars, has presented its complete solution "eeFlatNeo" for intelligent charging at home. In addition to charging with green electricity, the Munich startup promises calculable and transparent costs.

The theory behind the solution is well known: If many employees come home with their electric company car after work and connect the electric car to the charging stations, there are peak loads in the power grid. If a large number of electric cars still have to be charged, reserve power plants have to stabilize the network in the short term and the network must be expanded in the long term - both of which entail costs that are allocated to the electricity price.

The eeMobility solution is based on an interface to the parent company Statkraft. In this way, the existing network infrastructure is used optimally, since charging processes are automatically postponed to the time window in which network utilization is low, as the company wrote in a message. A smart meter gateway then ensures that flexible consumption can be correctly accounted for.

The software divides the charging process into 15-minute blocks and regulates the charging power and power requirements according to the grid stability. In this way, the nightly surplus electricity from wind turbines can be used in the best possible way. A self-learning algorithm is designed to ensure that the car is charged the next morning.

As part of the new offer, eeMobility will assume the costs for the wallbox, installation and maintenance over the entire term of the contract. In addition, the company car driver should also have access to the charging infrastructure at the company's location and at 40,000 charging stations across Europe with the “eeFlatNeo” charging card. Charging is always confirmed with green electricity.
