Mazda's new plug-in hybrid, the MX-30 R-EV, has received a maximum of five stars from Euro NCAP, joining the MX-30 electric car in achieving this top safety rating. The MX-30 R-EV's impressive Euro NCAP crash safety ratings results testify to Mazda's commitment to safety and reflect the car's advanced features and technologies.

One of the key factors behind the MX-30 R-EV's excellent performance in crash safety tests is Mazda's Skyactiv Vehicle Architecture, which features a strong body with high rigidity and well-defined shock-absorbing zones. This helps to reduce the risk of injury or personal injury in the event of an accident.

The MX-30 R-EV also comes with a wide range of active and passive safety technologies, which Mazda calls i-Activesense. These technologies help the driver identify and avoid potential risks, reducing the likelihood of damage or injury. Additionally, the car meets high pedestrian protection standards, which helps mitigate the effects of a possible collision with unprotected road users.

Another notable feature of the Mazda MX-30 R-EV is its unique engine technology in the form of a compact Wankel engine of 830 cm. Combined with a generator, this can produce electricity for the car's electric motor when the battery charge is low, offering a driving experience similar to the MX-30 electric car. The MX-30 R-EV has a pure electric range of 85 km.

Johan Lagerström, PR Manager at Mazda, expressed satisfaction with the MX-30 R-EV's performance, especially given its extra driveline. "It's good to see that the Mazda MX-30 R-EV is able to perform the same great results as the Mazda MX-30 electric car. After all, it has an extra driveline with both a Wankel engine and generator under the hood, which can affect the car's crash characteristics."

The Mazda MX-30 R-EV's safety features and impressive performance in crash safety tests make it an ideal choice for drivers looking for a hybrid vehicle that offers cutting-edge safety technology without compromising on style or performance. Mazda's commitment to safety and innovation is evident in the MX-30 R-EV, and it is sure to impress drivers looking for a safe, reliable, and environmentally friendly vehicle.
