Nissan has released the first images and information about the new Ariya electric SUV. The Japanese model will be available in Europe in five versions. The maximum range announced by Nissan will be up to 500 kilometres, while the performance version will have two electric motors with 394 hp.

The campaign to promote the Nissan Ariya started a few weeks ago, and during this time, the representatives of the Japanese company released a series of images and teaser clips. Now, Nissan has released the first images and details of the new Ariya, the company's first electric crossover coupe.

The new Nissan Ariya promises excellent performance, but also a consistent package of safety and assistance systems. 

 The new Nissan Ariya has a length of 4,595 mm, the width measures 1,850 mm, and the height is 1,660 mm. The wheelbase measures 2,775 millimetres, and the trunk volume varies from 415 litres to 468 litres. The new Nissan Ariya has been developed on a new revolutionary platform, designed especially for electric cars.

The Nissan Ariya will be available with specially designed wheels. As standard, the crossover SUV will be offered with 19 inches rims, and optionally customers will be able to choose 20 inches rims.

Depending on the engine and battery capacity, the Nissan Ariya crossover SUV will be available in five variants.

The basic version of the new SUV will be called Ariya 63 kWh and be equipped with an electric motor capable of developing 160 kW (217 hp) and 300 Nm. The Nissan Ariya 63 kWh will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.5 seconds, while the top speed is 160 km / h. The announced range for the version equipped with a 63 kWh battery is up to 360 kilometres.

The second 2WD variant prepared by Nissan is called Ariya 87 kWh. The electric motor develops 178 kW (242 hp) and 300 Nm, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes place in 7.6 seconds. Top speed is limited to 160 km / h. The Nissan Ariya 87 kWh is the most generous when it comes to autonomy: up to 500 kilometres.

The rest of the versions developed by Nissan will be equipped with two electric motors and the e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive system. The Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE 63 kWh has two engines capable of delivering a total of 205 kW (279 hp) and 560 Nm. The 0-100 km / h sprint takes place in 5.9 seconds, and the autonomy is up to 340 kilometres.

The Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE 87 kWh produces 225 kW (306 hp) and 600 Nm, and 5.7 seconds are required for 0-100 km / h. The Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE 87 kWh has a range up to 460 kilometres.

 The top of the range will be called the Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE 87 kWh Performance. The two electric motors develop 290 kW (394 hp) and 600 Nm, and the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes place in 5.1 seconds. The maximum range of the Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE 87 kWh Performance will be up to 400 kilometres. All models equipped with two electric motors will have a top speed of 200 km / h.

The batteries used by Nissan are liquid-cooled, and they can be recharged at sockets with powers up to 130 kW. Nissan Ariya crossover has a total weight between 1.8 and 2.3 tons.

The new Nissan Ariya will be available on the Japanese market from the middle of next year, and in Europe, it will arrive by the end of 2021.
