Volkswagen is gearing up to launch its flagship electric vehicle, the ID.7 GTX, a long-distance limousine with more power and all-wheel drive. The German automaker has given a first preview of the new model, which is expected to hit the market in 2023.
The ID.7 GTX is based on the Modular Electric Drive Toolkit (MEB) platform, which Volkswagen uses for its ID family of electric vehicles. The ID.7 GTX will be priced at around $90,000 in the US market, which is comparable to other high-end electric vehicles such as Tesla Model S Plaid and Lucid Air Dream Edition. The vehicle will be produced at Volkswagen’s Zwickau plant in Germany, which has been converted into an all-electric facility.
