Lucid Motors, an electric vehicle company based in the United States, is eyeing the European market with its Lucid Air electric sedan. Consumers in Germany will receive the brand's first product first, but customers in Austria and Switzerland, among other countries, should also be able to purchase it in the foreseeable future. According to reports, the first Lucid representative office in Germany will open its doors shortly.

Automobilwoche has reported concerning business circles that Lucid would formally launch its first studio in Munich at Odeonsplatz in May. The Lucid Air should be available for purchase at that point as well. Lucid is making its first incursion into the European market with a presence in Germany.

For some months, users in the United States have enjoyed the Lucid Air electric sedan. Prices begin at $77,400 before taxes, in the USA. According to the realistic EPA standard, the Lucid Air Grand Touring version has the best range, 830 kilometers per charge. The Lucid Air costs 132,000 euros for the version with the extra-long range. The Grand Touring Performance model, which was recently introduced in April, is the one with the maximum output. It has 783 kW of power (1065 hp). With an 829 kW (1126 hp) system, the Lucid Air Dream Edition, which had already sold out, was even more powerful than before. It is presently unknown how much the Lucid Air will cost in Germany, nor how much it will cost in other countries. An initial payment of up to 900 euros may be necessary to secure the reservation, depending on the model.

In his previous role as Tesla's chief technology officer, Peter Rawlinson believed that German luxury brands such as Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz would be direct competitors for the Lucid Air shortly. In addition, the Lucid Gravity magnificent electric SUV, which is scheduled to be released in 2024, is also expected to attract clients to the startup.

Lucid considers itself a pioneer in developing high-quality, high-performance, and practical but efficient electric vehicles for everyday driving. The firm presently has the widest choice of products on the market, and the Californians can also boast the highest numbers in terms of drive power and performance. However, there are still difficulties in scaling up output at the newly constructed facility in Arizona, United States. The production forecast has already been cut downward: instead of 20,000 cars, only 12,000 to 14,000 Lucid Air electric vehicles are expected to be built in 2022. On the other hand, the first extension stage has a capacity of 30,000 units, which is a significant increase.

Many other manufacturers are presently experiencing manufacturing sluggishness, which Lucid attributes to issues in the supply chain, which many other manufacturers are also participating. According to information from Automobilwoche, there will also be significant hurdles in the manufacturing process. Rawlinson underlines that quality is more important to him than quantity in his work. His primary objective is to develop Lucid as a new premium brand in the short term.

Lucid Motors has announced the development of a second facility in Saudi Arabia, which would produce up to 150,000 vehicles per year. In 2018, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) 's Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund invested more than a billion dollars in the startup. Recently, it was disclosed that the Saudi government aims to purchase up to 100,000 Lucid Air electric sedans over the next ten years, according to the terms of the agreement. A total of 50,000 units have already been confirmed, with an additional 50,000 units available if necessary.
