Based on the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform, the Skoda Enyaq will be the first 100% electric SUV of the Czech brand.
The "E", located at the beginning of the name, refers to electric mobility while the "Q" at the end creates a connection with the family of Czech brand SUV models, such as the Kodiaq, the Karoq and the Kamiq, whose Names are derived from the language of the Inuit who live in northern Canada and Greenland.
The Skoda Enyaq is the first series-production vehicle of the Czech brand based on the Modular Electric Propulsion Platform (MEB) of the Volkswagen Group, and the next in a series of more than ten electric models to be launched under the Skoda Enyaq iV sub-brand until the end of 2022.
The Czech has already announced its future intentions with the Skoda Vision iV (zero-emission coupé-style SUV). It will be powered by two electric motors, one on each axis, which develop a power of 306 hp. This means that the vehicle is equipped with all-wheel drive. With these features, you can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.9 seconds and reach 180 km / h top speed. The total autonomy is 500 km.
The Skoda Enyaq could take different elements of this prototype such as the design or its technology.
By 2025, ŠKODA expects all-electric vehicles and models with plug-in hybrid drives to account for 25% of sales. By 2021, the car manufacturer will have invested two billion euros in the advancement of electric models and a holistic, interconnected ecosystem for modern and environmentally friendly mobility solutions.
