In the second half of 2020, Peugeot will launch a fully electric version of the Traveller van on the European market. The novelty received the name e-Traveller and is an electric minivan adapted to the needs of commercial carriers, as well as private buyers who lead an active lifestyle.
The Peugeot e-Traveller is offered in three lengths (4.61 meters Compact, 4.96 meters Standard and 5.31 meters Long), two basic versions (Shuttle and Combispace), and with two different battery sizes (50 and 75 kWh). All three length variants benefit from the limited height of the vehicle (1.90 meters), which allows access to most of the underground car parks. The Peugeot e-Traveller is capable of carrying up to 9 people with a boot volume of 1,500 liters or up to 5 people with 3,000 liters. The boot volume reaches a maximum of 4,900 liters. The Peugeot e-Traveler can be loaded with up to 965 kilograms.
Based on the EMP2 modular platform, the new Peugeot e-Traveller adopts an electric motor with 100 kW / 136 hp of power and 260 Nm of maximum torque (similar to the Peugeot e-Expert electric commercial vehicle).
The performance of the Peugeot e-Traveler electric minivan is as follows: acceleration 0-100 km / h in 13.1 seconds and a maximum speed of 130 km / h.
The 50 kWh battery, available on Compact, Standard and Long bodywork, ensures autonomy up to 230km (measured on the WLTP cycle). The 75 kWh battery available on the Standard and Long versions, ensures autonomy up to 330km (WLTP). The battery can be charged with up to 100 kW DC. At a quick charging station, the small battery is 80% charged in 30 minutes, the larger one takes 45 minutes to charge.
The electric van’s equipment includes the 180 ° rearview camera, line crossing alert, blind-spot monitoring, recognition of traffic signs, Grip Control traction control system, electric parking brake, an infotainment system with TomTom 3D satellite navigation, heated front seats, a 3.5-inch color display, a pre-heating / cooling function with interior activation from a smartphone, and an electric heater based on a 10 kilowatt PTC resistor.
Pricing for the new Peugeot e-Traveller electric minivan has not yet been announced. The start of sales in Europe is scheduled for the second half of this year. The production is located in France near Valenciennes.
Peugeot grants a guarantee of 8 years or 160,000 kilometres for 70% of their charging capacity on the battery.
