The start of sales of the BYD Han electric car in China is scheduled for the end of June this year. For Europe, precise dates are still unknown, but preliminary prices are mentioned. A BYD Han electric car can be bought by paying from 45,000 to 55,000 euros (£40,000-£49,000). According to BYD's expectations, such a cost will allow the model to gain a foothold in the segment of business-class electric cars with premium equipment.

BYD Han has a range of up to 605 km when assessed according to the NEDC cycle. From 0 to 100 km / h, the car accelerates in just 3.9 seconds. The electric car was the first model of the brand to use the new DiPilot driver assistance system, high-performance power electronics based on MOS transistors and silicon carbide, 5G connectivity, as well as the innovative "Blade Battery" created using cell-to-pack technology.  The electric car is finally equipped with Bosh's Intelligent Integrated Brake System, which promises to balance comfort and safety with greater autonomy.

Blade Battery has been developing for the past few years. According to BYD, the new lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery has a higher energy density and will significantly increase the safety of electric vehicles. The Blade Battery allows 50% more efficient use of space compared to traditional lithium energy storage, which is ensured by the optimized cell structure.

BYD Han is available with several powertrain options. The cheapest versions are equipped with a 65 kWh battery that provides mileage on a single charge of up to 506 km and only front-wheel drive. Other models with a battery capable of storing 77 kWh of electricity are front-wheel drive with a maximum range of 605 km, and all-wheel drive, which can travel up to 550 km without recharging.

Fast DC charging allows you to increase the battery level from 30 to 80% in just 25 minutesAnd in 10 minutes of connecting to the charging station, you can get enough energy to travel about 135 km.

BYD Han electric car measures 4980 mm, in width - 1910 mm, in height - 1495 mm. The distance between the axles is 2920 mm.

The Chinese have not revealed the battery capacity provided for the electric car reserved for Europe, but promise a range of up to 605 km, measured according to the NEDC calculation standard, which means that in a real operating mode the range will range between 370 and 450 kilometers.

BYD Han also has a hybrid powertrain version. It includes a 2-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor of 180 kW. This plug-in hybrid can travel up to 80 km in 100% electric mode.

In addition to the Han EV sedan, BYD plans to bring the Tang EV600 electric crossover to Europe, with a range of about 520 kilometers.
