Citroen has launched a new version of its Ami electric car specially designed for people with disabilities. The Citroen Ami for All is a compact, two-seater vehicle that can be driven without a license and offers easy access and operation for people with reduced mobility.
The Citroen Ami for All is based on the standard Ami, which debuted in 2020 as a low-cost, urban mobility solution. The Citroen Ami has a boxy shape, a symmetrical design, and a 5.5-kWh battery pack that provides a range of 43 miles and a top speed of 28 mph. It can be charged from a standard household outlet in about three hours.
The Ami for All adds some features that make it more accessible and comfortable for people with disabilities. For example, it has a sliding door on the driver's side that opens 90 degrees, allowing easy entry and exit. It also has a swivel seat that can be adjusted in height and depth and a retractable ramp that can accommodate a wheelchair or a scooter.
The Citroen Ami for All also has a simplified driving system that can be operated with one hand. It has a joystick that controls the vehicle's acceleration, braking, and direction, as well as buttons for the horn, lights, indicators, and windshield wipers. The dashboard has a digital display that shows the speed, battery level, and driving mode.
