Renault Trucks has signed a contract with the Carlsberg Group for the delivery of 20 fully electric 26-ton D-type ZE trucks. The electric trucks are to be delivered to the Swiss brewery Feldschlösschen later this year.
The heavy electric fleet will travel between 100 and 200 kilometres a day to supply Swiss customers from the 15 logistics centres of the Feldschlösschen brewery.
The D Wide ZE in the Renault Trucks range is actually a truck variant specially optimized for waste transport. In this form, the electric D Wide ZE is used in the greater Lyon area for some time.
For delivery to Switzerland, the D Wide ZE is now being optimized for brewery logistics. The models each have two electric motors on board, which offer a total output of 370 kW or a constant output of 260 kW and 850 Nm.
A battery pack with a capacity of 200 kWh is installed as an energy storage device, which should enable a real range of up to 200 km. The lithium-ion batteries of the e-truck can be fully charged in one to two hours via the CCS connection with 150 kW charging power.
The French emphasize that they can now boast a complete series of electrically operated trucks from 3.1 to 26 tons. Both the D Wide ZE and the 16-ton D ZE are manufactured at the plant in Blainville-sur-Orne in the Calvados department in northern France. Both join the already known e-transporter Master ZE, which has been available since 2018.
Bruno Blin, president of Renault Trucks highlights: “It is the first order of this scale in Europe. It proves to our customers that the transport sector is undergoing a major transformation and reflects an industrial and commercial reality: our Renault Trucks electric trucks are rolling off the assembly line and will be on the roads of Europe in a few
weeks’ time.”
