Tesla has bought $ 5 million worth of land in Austin, Texas. Elon Musk wants to start building a new electric vehicle plant in the southwestern United States in the summer.

Texas officials have assured the company that they will make tax cuts for the new Tesla plant.

In March, Elon Musk threatened to move operations in Alameda, California, after officials demanded the closure of the Fremont plant due to the coronavirus epidemic.

At the new US electric car factory, Elon Musk will assemble the Tesla Cybertruck electric pickup truck and the Tesla Model Y electric SUV.

The only American electric car assembly plant in the United States is in Fremont, California, covering an area of 5.3 million square meters.

Elon Musk aims to build 10-12 factories around the globe. Tesla owns plants in Nevada - Gigafactory 1 (built in 2016), New York - Gigafactory 2 and Shanghai, China - Gigafactory 3. The German plant, called Giga Berlin, will be the fourth largest Tesla plant - Gigafactory 4.

Oklahoma’s Secretary of Commerce Sean Kouplen said "We’ve pulled together a compelling, well-balanced and, more importantly, a responsible performance-based incentives package to attract Tesla to Oklahoma"
