Hyundai premium brand Genesis has revealed the first pictures of the GV60 electric car. The second full-electric vehicle from the luxurious South Korean brand is based on the new electric car architecture E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) from the Hyundai Group. The "G" in GV60 stands for Genesis, the "V" for versatility explains the company. The number "60" represents the position in the Genesis model range and makes the GV60 the sportiest vehicle to date.
The Genesis premium brand does not yet reveal the technical details of the GV60 electric car. In the first pictures with the electric vehicle, the manufacturer focuses on the optics. Therefore, the design has been specially optimized for this electric car and should focus on the vehicle's dynamics in addition to a striking look. The digital side mirrors contribute to a state-of-the-art presentation, while the automatically external door handles underline the smooth lines.
The GV60 also has a new wing badge on the grille. The thickness of the previous emblem has been reduced by almost 80 %, according to Hyundai. "It has the same unique guilloché design that is often seen on luxury watches and shows the brand's orientation towards a luxurious driving experience with high-tech innovations," says Hyundai. In addition, the interior design of the GV60 adopts the brand's design ethos, the "beauty of the white space", and creates a spacious and comfortable interior.
In the interior, the most striking feature of the GV60 is the "Crystal Sphere": a spherical electronic communication instrument that informs about oncoming vehicles. In addition, the Crystal Sphere has mood lights that illuminate when the electric car is switched off and are intended to make the driving experience even more beautiful. "The centre console in which the Crystal Sphere is located looks as if it is floating. Together with other features of a fully electric platform, such as the slim cockpit and the flat floor, it offers passengers a new level of spaciousness," the manufacturer advertises.
"When we started in Europe, we committed to bringing three electric cars to the region within the first year. So we are proud that the GV60 will be our second electric car for Europe shortly after the introduction of the electrified G80," says Dominique Boesch, Managing Director of Genesis Motor Europe. The GV60 electric car is Genesis's first electric vehicle on its own modular platform, and thanks to this platform, it will offer a whole new luxury electric car experience-based Genesis's original brand identity. It will also benefit from Genesis's customer-service offering, where service comes before sales.
The Genesis cars will be available again in Europe soon; most recently, the brand had focused on Asia and the USA. A few months ago, the fully electric version of the G80 luxury sedan, the brand's first electric car, was presented. The full specifications, services provided, and prices for Europe of the new GV60 will be announced very shortly.
