Presented at the 2018 Paris Motor Show along with the Peugeot 508 Hybrid, the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 plug-in hybrid SUV is preparing for the commercial launch. Autonomy, for example, has been revised upwards in light of WLTP approval: up to 59 km of electric range instead of the previously announced 50 km.

The Peugeot 3008 offers the possibility of using the electric motor to provide traction to the rear wheels: in this way the car can travel in all-wheel drive and benefit from a total power of 220 kW (300 bhp), developed thanks to the combination of the 1.6 PureTech petrol engine with 147 kW (200 bhp) and two electric motors. The first is located at the front (integrated into the e-EAT8 gearbox) and develops 81 kW (110 hp), the second is located on the rear axle and develops 83 kW (112 hp).

Performance is sporty, with an acceleration of 0-100 km / h covered in 5.9 seconds, but the attention of Peugeot designers has also focused on the overall efficiency and versatility of this vehicle. Taking advantage of the charge of the battery pack - a 13.2 kWh lithium-ion unit integrated in the flatbed - it is possible to obtain combined consumption of 1.3l / 100 km of petrol and 29 g / km of CO2. The charging may take place in alternating current through Wallbox or public stand, with a maximum power consumption of 7.4 kW.

Versatility is given by the five available driving modes :

- ZERO EMISSIONS: electric drive, it is possible to reach a top speed of 135 km / h

- SPORT: uses the maximum power of the system

- HYBRID: combines electrical and thermal to reduce consumption

- 4WD: the combination of the three engines is exploited to offer greater traction and grip on difficult roads or routes

- COMFORT: HYBRID mode made even more comfortable by the combination with limited damping suspension

The hybrid powertrain modifies the EMP2 modular platform with new multilink rear suspensions, which however do not take away space from the interior and the trunk.

Peugeot 3008 GT Hybrid4 will be available in dealerships in the first quarter of 2020.
