Initially, it may sound like a computer operating system, but the reality is that Liux strongly impacts us. We're speaking about a Spanish start-up that has been in operation for a little over a year and has set the goal of launching a groundbreaking electric car. The original electric vehicle already exists and is known as Liux Animal. It will be available on the market in 2024.
One of the main goals that its founders, Antonio Espinosa de los Monteros and David Sancho Domingo, have set for themselves is to be the standard-bearers of sustainability. To that end, they have developed the production process through 3D printing, and most Liux Animal's components are of plant origin. They have used bio-polymers and bio-composites derived from natural fibers and resins such as flax.
The Liux Animal's chassis, however, enables the use of replaceable and modular batteries that can be updated, enlarged, or reused for other vehicles, considerably lowering production costs. Initially, the Liux Animal will be available with two or four battery modules, each weighing 100 kg and containing 23 kWh capacity, with a range of 300 km minimum and 600 km maximum.
