Skoda's first electric city car - Skoda CITIGO-e iV

Skoda presented its first electric model in history, Skoda CITIGO-e iV, on Thursday at the IIHF world ice hockey championship in Bratislava. The start of mass production of the new electric car model, which is positioned as a compact city car, is scheduled for the second half of 2019.

At the moment, the price tag of Citigo-e iV remains unknown, at the same time, representatives of Skoda have already promised that the cost of the model will be "significantly lower than 20 thousand euros."

According to the manufacturer's specifications, the power of the Skoda Citigo-e iV engine will be 61 kW (210 Nm of maximum torque), which corresponds to about 83 hp.

Skoda CITIGO-e iV takes 12.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h, while acceleration from 60 to 100 km / h takes 7.6 seconds. The maximum speed is 130 km / h.

The dimensions of the 4-door electric Skoda CITIGO-e iV are 3597 mm in length, 1645 mm in width and 1481 mm in height. As you can see, the size of the new electric city car is almost identical to its petrol predecessor - the compact car Skoda Citigo. In the standard form, the volume of the trunk has 250 liters, but by folding the rear seats, it is possible to increase the luggage compartment to 923 liters.

Skoda CITIGO-e iV it will be offered with three body colors Candy White, Tornado Red, Sunflower Yellow and Kiwi Green, and will allow you to choose between 14 and 16-inch wheels.

Skoda CITIGOe iV is equipped with a 60 Ah lithium-ion battery pack that includes 168 cells, with a capacity of 36.8 kWh. The current accumulator in the vehicle floor measures 1.1 x 1.7 m and is only 0.3 m high. The battery can be recharged up to 80% in an hour, using a 40 kW direct current rapid charger and a CCS (Combined Charging System). The charging process takes 4:08 hours with a 7.2 kW or 12:37 hours AC wall box using a 2.3 kW home charging station. The CCS charging and the necessary cable are standard. If similar charging stations are not available, the battery can also be recharged at a normal domestic socket.

The maximum autonomy announced by the manufacturer is 265 kilometers (WLTP).

The interiors have also been revised for the iV version. The black dashboard and the upper surface have been restyled. Standard equipment includes electric front windows, Climatronic, remote-controlled central locking, Swing II radio and Move & Fun smartphone docking station on the dashboard. Through the Move & Fun app, it is possible to integrate a mobile phone as an extra display for displaying vehicle data, as media playback or as a navigation system. The app also offers mobile online services that allow remote access to the battery or air conditioner.

A Comfort package is available on request which, in addition to the heating for the front seats, also offers four additional speakers and parking sensors on the rear area.

On the Style version, there is also a Winter Package, which in addition to the heated front seats, also includes athermic glass for the windscreen, rain sensor, and a photosensor.

Skoda has published that Citigo-eV's production will begin in the second half of the year but has not yet stipulated the start date for pre-orders or deliveries.
