It really seems to have come out of a sci-fi movie, Tesla's new Pick-up, the Cybertruck, is something really out of this world. Starting with the design that really seems to come from the future or from some other planet.

All at a declared starting price of $ 39,900 for the two-wheel-drive version, much less than the 50 thousand that Musk himself had announced.

Describing design is difficult, it's much easier to see it in photos. However, Tesla applied a very particular constructive process. Cybertruck is built with an outer shell made for maximum durability and passenger protection. Starting from an almost impenetrable exoskeleton, each component is designed for superior strength. During the event, Musk wanted to demonstrate robustness. Franz von Holzhausen, Tesla's head of design, hit the truck door several times with a club and claimed that it was practically bulletproof.

Customers can already make reservations for the new Cybertruck, but this time Tesla is asking for an advance of only $100 (€ 100 for europeans).

Autonomy and performance

According to Tesla, there will be three configurations of the Cybertruck. A two-wheel-drive rear using a single electric motor will have a range of about 320 km and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 6.5 seconds.

Two electric motors will power the intermediate version, it will be four-wheel drive, will have a range of about 420 km and an acceleration of 0-100 in less than 4.5 sec.

The third configuration, the most powerful, will also be 4-wheel drive, but driven by three electric motors, for a range of over 800 km and an acceleration of 0-100 km / h in less than 2.9 sec.

The first two models will arrive in 2021. The sportiest variant in 2022. Obviously, the Autopilot option must be added separately. A lot of technology even on board with a style very similar to that of the Model 3 with a maxi central touch display.

Load Capacity

With a body of almost two meters in length, the loading volume for all versions is approximately 9.3 cubic meters, with the possibility of accommodating up to 6 people in the cabin, while the capacity reaches over 1,500 kg.

What changes, depending on the version, is the towing capacity ranging from 3,500 to 6,500 kg. The Cybertruck is supported on 4 independent and active air suspension systems. The height from the ground reaches 40 cm, the angle of attack is 35 degrees, while the exit angle is 28.

Tesla Cybertruck can accommodate a total of six adults. The roof is closed but you can wrap it if you need to load something high. Tesla Cybertruck is equipped as standard with an adaptive air suspension.

Tesla has published a single image with the interior, which shows that Americans will continue the tradition: the steering wheel and a large screen positioned this time horizontally are the only elements present on the dashboard.

Tesla did not provide full technical details about the engines or the battery capacity, and little information is mentioned according to the measurement standards in the United States. Tesla does not explicitly mention that Cybertruck will be available on the European market and does not provide technical data based on the Old Continent standards.

Tesla will already have strong competition in the electric pickup segment: the famous Ford F-150 will receive an electric version, and General Motors has announced it will launch such a model in the fall of 2021. Also, the American startup Rivian financially supported by Ford and Amazon will launch the R1T electric pickup in the US (2020) and Europe (2021). via tesla
