Metz Mecatech introduces an e-scooter called "moover", which according to the supplier has already received a special permit and therefore may be moved legally in German road traffic.
Specifically, the license applies to people aged 15 and over who have at least one moped test certificate. According to Metz, special approval is based on the regulations for lightweight mopeds. This approval is valid until the pending ELV regulation comes into force. However, before it can start, the holder must complete a non-personal liability insurance for 35.70 euros, then the vehicle may be used on roads and designated bike paths.
First presented in 2018, the foldable moover is manufactured in Zirndorf, Franconia. So far, it has only been marketed outside Germany. That changes now. On the performance data: On air-suspended 12-inch wheels, the approximately 16 kg device reaches a maximum speed of 20 km / h, with the electric motor accelerates after a short push on a hand pedal on the handlebars.
The battery has a capacity of 216 Wh and can be charged in three to four hours. The range is up to 25 km.
