Electric cars have been popular with consumers for a few years now, and manufacturers are competing to develop models that will revolutionize the way people travel. If so far the cost of batteries has stopped many choosing an electric car, now these impediments are starting to disappear, and the market is growing.
Journalists from the British publication Wired have published a list of the most interesting models of electric cars to be launched this year.
1. Volkswagen ID.3
Volkswagen has a large number of electric cars to hit the market, but this is perhaps the most important. An accessible ID.3 (estimated to cost from just over 30,000 pounds), which will come in three versions. Volkswagen described the car as having the inside of a Passat and the performance of a Golf GTI. The basic model has a range of 330 km, while the top version can go 550 km with a single charge.
2. Rivian R1T truck
Rivian, a US start-up, will launch this five-seater pickup truck by the end of 2020, with three battery types - 105kWh, 135kWh and 180kWh - that can cover 370 km, 480 km and 600 km respectively, with a maximum speed of 200 km / h. The dashboard has a 15.6-inch touch screen and a 6.8-inch touch screen for rear passengers. The pick-up has a four-wheel-drive system that splits the power between four electric motors, one for each wheel. In the front, there is a 350-liter trunk, and 200-liter storage space is under the rear seat. Rivian R1T's platform develops a maximum power of 765 horses and 1,120 Nm.
3. Aston Martin Rapide E
Aston Martin has already opened orders for its first fully electric vehicle, although anyone who wants and allows this car has to be fast, as production is limited to 155 units. The car promises a top speed of 250 km / h and a lithium-ion battery pack with 5,600 cells of 65 kWh, which will deliver 602 hp. According to official specifications, the battery should be sufficient for 320 kilometers. The price is currently unknown for Aston Martin Rapide E.
