Porsche has released the first information and images with the new Taycan Cross Turismo. This model offers a more robust suspension and a Gravel running mode.

The German carmaker launched the Taycan model in 2019, at the Frankfurt Motor Show. In the year of its debut, over 20,000 customers around the world opted for the first electric car developed by Porsche.

Now, after a fairly long test and promotion campaign, it's time to get acquainted with the new version of Taycan Cross Turismo. It's designed especially for lovers of adventure and environmentally friendly cars.

The new Taycan Cross Turismo variant brings back the shooting brake inspired by the Panamera Cross Turismo model in the Porsche electric model range. The new version is even more robust, Porsche is advising that it can be used without problems on unpaved roads with the new Gravel driving mode.

Like the Porsche Taycan, the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo version uses the electric system with 800 V architecture. The model is available with the Performance Plus battery with a total capacity of 93.4 kWh, with two electric motors and an all-wheel drive. Customers will be able to choose between four equipment versions:

  • Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo with 380 hp (476 hp in Launch Control mode), acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.1 seconds, top speed 220 km / h, 390-456 km of autonomy.
  • Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo with 490 hp, (571 hp in Launch Control mode), acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.1 seconds, 240 km / h, 388-452 km of autonomy.
  • Porsche Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo with 625 hp (680 hp in Launch Control mode), 0-100 km / h acceleration in 3.3 seconds, top speed 250 km / h, 395-452 km of autonomy.
  • Porsche Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo with 625 hp (761 hp in Launch Control mode), acceleration from 0-100 km / h in 2.9 seconds, top speed 250 km / h, 388-419 km of autonomy.

Depending on the version chosen (Taycan 4 Cross Turismo, Taycan 4S Cross Turismo, Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo or Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo), passengers will enjoy the digital radio, multifunction sports steering wheel or electronically adjustable sports seats.

Also, the new Taycan Cross Turismo has an adaptive suspension controlled by the Porsche 4D Chassis Control system. The system recognizes the route and can increase the ground clearance depending on the obstacles encountered. The new Gravel driving mode is designed for surfaces covered with mud or gravel and automatically raises the ground clearance by another 10 millimetres (+30 mm compared to an ordinary Taycan). At the same time, when selected, the power delivery and accelerator pedal response change so that off-road driving is as simple as possible.

Thanks to the shape of the roof, the rear passengers have more headroom (+ 47 mm), and the trunk volume is up to 1,200 litres. Also, Porsche has developed a new roof rack, certified for speeds of up to 200 km / h and a bike rack that can be attached to the back of the car. The bicycle transport system also provides access to the trunk, allowing the tailgate to be opened.

The commercial debut for the new Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo electric car will take place this summer.
