Jaguar Land Rover has expanded its range of Ingenium engines with a new six-cylinder, three-liter gasoline engine that combines with the smooth hybrid technology of 48 volts, MHEV (Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle). This system uses a small integrated electric motor that collects the energy lost during decelerations and uses it again to maximize the efficiency of the engine.
The engine has been designed by the Land Rover itself and will be manufactured at its Engine Manufacturing Center (EMC) in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom, along with the current four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines.
The new engine will be available in two versions, one of 360 hp and another of 400 hp capable of offering 495 and 550 Nm of torque.
