Toyota presents the fourth generation of Yaris, more compact and at the same time more spacious, at a price not yet declared.

The new Yaris is renewed from top to bottom: the length has been reduced by 5 mm, but the wheelbase has increased by 50 mm. The merits go to the TNGA-B platform (Toyota's New Global Architecture), which also allowed the car to be lowered by 40mm with the same space for the passengers' heads. The bonnet has been extended and lowered, which allows the driver to enjoy a better view.

The 15 mm lower center of gravity compared to the model currently on the market allows for better balance, both lateral and longitudinal, which translates into greater stability and less braking time. The adoption of the TNGA-B platform also allows the rigidity of the body to be increased for a greater level of safety, silence and comfort, as well as containing vibrations.

The interiors have also been redesigned, enhanced by a perfectly interconnected central infotainment system. The new front seats ensure a comfortable space, while the rest of the interior was made with premium materials.

The new Toyota Yaris will be the first compact to be equipped with a central airbag between the front seats to protect the vehicle's occupants in the event of a side impact. Standard on all Yaris models are Full Range Adaptive Cruise Control assistance systems with Stop & Go and the LTA Lane Active Maintenance System.

In the absence of the announcement of the official price, the people of Toyota commented that the price would not go too far from the model that is currently in the market.

The new Yaris is powered by a 1.5L  Dynamic Force Engine system with 3 cylinders and an Atkinson cycle with variable valve timing, deriving from the larger 2.0L and 2.5L introduced on the new Corolla, the RAV4 and the Camry.

It is expected that the power is around 115 hp.

On the other hand, the new Yaris integrates a new lithium-ion battery that allows this increase in power. Thus, this electric unit has a power of 59 kWh and 101 Nm of torque, which allows the Yaris to reach up to 130 km / h in zero-emission mode. The redesign of all battery components has resulted in a lightness of 20%. And is that this Yaris reduces its weight by 20 kg to reach 1035 kg.
