In a new walk-around video with Hyundai's design manager Luc Donckerwolke, new aspects about the interior and exterior of the Prophecy concept car are exposed.
The concept car was first shown during a digital premiere in March. Although Hyundai Prophecy is a concept, the name reflects that this car is more than just that. Prophecy shows ideas and features that Hyundai will develop in the future.
Hyundai Prophecy is inspired by cars from the 1920s and 1930s, with a sleek and cabin-like shape. Floating curves and soft lines make the car stand out. Prophecy's dynamic shape and expressive rear spoiler give it a sporty look, and the propeller-shaped rims provide lower air resistance.
One of the most unique features of Prophecy is that it lacks a traditional steering wheel. The Prophecy is controlled with joysticks that are comfortable in the hands of the driver. One joystick is located on the centre console, while the other is in the door. This provides a comfortable driving position.
Electric powertrains are far more compact than traditional internal combustion engines, therefore, car designers can bend this space to create smart solutions for the passengers and the functionality of the cars.
Prophecy is a zero-emission vehicle, but the car's eco-friendly technologies extend well beyond this. Using a unique air purification system with fine particulate filters, Prophecy provides clean air both inside the interior and outside.
The car also cleans the air when no one is on board, and therefore contributes to local air purification. Moreover, the system is far more efficient than traditional air conditioning systems.
Hyundai made an online presentation of its Prophecy electric concept earlier this month, and the other day announced that the car carries proven technologies that will go into production in the very near future. One of the most unique… Continue reading
