For the first time, Volkswagen is offering a limited edition of 30,000 copies called "ID.3 First" with special equipment and a medium-sized 58 kWh battery, which should be suitable for up to 420 kilometers according to the new WLTP standard. In the harsh practice of everyday life are probably about 300 kilometers, which is quite okay.

Since May 8, 2019, VW has been accepting online pre-orders for the Volkswagen ID.3 First Edition.  For a deposit of 1000 euros, you can reserve the special limited model. The Volkswagen ID.3 "1st" comes with comfort features like voice control and a navigation system. VW also already gives a vague price for this variant: It should cost less than 40,000 euros. The better-equipped ID.3 "1st Plus" stands out with its LED matrix headlights and two-tone paint finish. The top model of the special edition ID.3 " 1st Max" is additionally equipped with a large panoramic glass roof and a head-up display with augmented reality.

The batteries 45, 58 and 77 kWh can be ordered and also the engine power is variable. After the market launch, models such as the ID.3 should not only be able to be charged at home via a plug but also inductively - up to 11 kWh. 

The maximum speed is expected to be limited to 160 km / h, the strongest power variants are expected to accelerate in just under five seconds from 0 to 100 km / h.

All owners of the VW Id. 3 First Edition will have available a free 2,000 kWh credit in the IONITY European ultra-fast cargo network and in all cargo points included in the Volkswagen We Charge application.

The first units will be delivered from April 2020. Volkswagen plans to manufacture about 110.00 units per year.
