Called RAV4 Prime in the United States, this plug-in hybrid model is much more muscular than the simple hybrid version. Toyota presents the Toyota RAV4 Prime at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Without being exhaustive, the brand has given some technical information. We learn that this trendy version will resume the four-cylinder 2.5 petrol used on the classic hybrid version but with a much more muscular electric part.
In total, Toyota RAV4 Prime will have 306 horsepower and an acceleration from 0 to 96 km / h in 5.8 seconds. Compared to the 222 horses offered by the simple hybrid version, the gain is important and should rank this Prime version among the most expensive models in the range.
In terms of consumption, the manufacturer announces 6.0 l / 100 km according to the US EPA cycle for the Toyota RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid.
In the United States, the Toyota RAV4 Prime will begin deliveries in the summer of 2020 and will be available in two levels of finishes: Toyota RAV4 Prime SE and Toyota RAV4 Prime XSE. In the Toyota lineup, he will join the Prius Prime, the most popular plug-in hybrid car on the US market. More than 15,000 copies have been sold since the beginning of the year. Given the appetite of US consumers for large SUVs, the model should work rather well.
