The winner of the tender for 130 hybrid buses in Bucharest is Mercedes - Benz, and the type of bus that will be delivered is Mercedes - Benz Citaro Hybrid, announced General Mayor Gabriela Firea.
In addition to the 400 Euro 6 buses purchased last year, hybrid buses now purchased with non-reimbursable financing will contribute to the improvement of public transport in the Bucharest, and also to the reduction of pollution generated by urban traffic. It is a significant improvement, after, for 12 years, not even a vehicle was purchased for public transportation.
The Mercedes - Benz Citaro Hybrid, manufactured in Germany, received the "Bus of the year 2019" award, granted during the IAA 2018 event. The contract value is 41.276.075 euro, excluding VAT.
According to the contract, the delivery will be made from May of next year and will extend over a period of 8 months.

The buses have a capacity of up to 100 passengers (27 seated and 65 standing) and have the following dimensions: length of 12,135 mm, width of 2,550 mm, height of 3,120 mm, width of access doors is 1,250 mm and height of boarding. for all 320 mm doors. The buses will be equipped with ABS, ASR (Anti-Skid Protection System) and ESP (Electronic Stability Program) systems.
The interior of the buses is modern, practically, equipped with upholstered seats and automatic air conditioning, with special functions for people with disabilities, it is equipped with USB sockets for fast charging of mobile devices.
