Last week, Volvo unveiled its plans to phase out all internal combustion cars and plug-in hybrids cars by the end of 2030, and now the company has unveiled its second fully-electric crossover SUV: Volvo C40 Recharge.
Volvo has opened the orders for the C40 Recharge. The electric crossover SUV can be ordered immediately in the Netherlands and Norway and from June 3 in Sweden and Great Britain. Additional markets will follow in the coming weeks.
Volvo had presented the C40 Recharge as an offspring of the XC40 Recharge at the beginning of March. Both vehicles use the same drive from the CMA platform. The propulsion is provided by two electric motors - one on the front and one on the rear axle - that provides 300 kW (402 hp) of power and is powered by a 78 kWh battery that can be fast-charged from 0 to 80% in about 40 minutes. This gives an estimated range of around 420 kilometres, which Volvo expects to increase over time via wireless software updates.
