  • Hyundai

Hyundai continues to lead the charge with its innovative and stylish offerings. The introduction of the 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric, now enhanced with the N Line, marks another milestone in the brand's commitment to sustainable mobility. This comprehensive review delves into the new features, specifications, and pricing of the 2025 Kona Electric, providing a detailed look at what makes this model a standout in the electric vehicle market.

Exterior and Interior Enhancements: N Line Distinction

The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric N Line brings a fresh, sporty aesthetic to the lineup. Building on the second-generation Kona Electric's design, the N Line adds distinctive touches that set it apart. The exterior boasts black 19-inch wheels, trim-specific front and rear bumpers, and sleek black mirror caps and window surrounds. These elements combine to give the Kona Electric N Line a bold and dynamic presence on the road.

Inside, the N Line continues to impress with premium materials and thoughtful design details. The cabin features dark-chrome and red accents, metal pedals, and sport seats upholstered in a blend of black synthetic suede and synthetic leather. These upgrades not only enhance the visual appeal but also provide a more engaging driving experience.

Powertrain and Performance: Consistent Excellence

Mechanically, the 2025 Kona Electric remains unchanged, offering the same reliable and efficient performance as its predecessor. The base SE trim is equipped with a 48.6-kilowatt-hour battery pack, powering a single electric motor that delivers 133 horsepower and 188 pounds-feet of torque. This configuration provides a respectable range of 200 miles, making it suitable for daily commutes and short trips.

For those seeking more power and range, the SEL, N Line, and Limited trims are the way to go. These models come with a larger 64.8-kWh battery pack and a more robust 201-hp motor. Despite sharing the same torque as the SE, this setup offers a significant range improvement. The SEL and Limited can cover up to 261 miles on a single charge, while the N Line, due to its larger wheels, achieves a range of 230 miles. All trims benefit from a 10.8-kilowatt onboard charger, capable of recharging the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 43 minutes using a DC fast charger.

Cutting-Edge Features and Technology

The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric is packed with advanced features designed to enhance convenience, safety, and comfort. Standard across all trims are a suite of safety technologies, including forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-centering steering assist, and blind-spot monitors. Additional features such as rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit warning, driver attention monitor, traffic-sign recognition, and a rear-seat reminder further elevate the vehicle's safety credentials.

The SE trim offers a solid foundation with LED exterior lighting, heated mirrors, keyless entry and start, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment system, also 12.3 inches, supports navigation, wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Inside, the SE features cloth seats and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Moving up to the SEL adds rear privacy glass, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and rear air vents. The N Line, positioned between the SEL and Limited, introduces a power moonroof, ambient interior lighting, wireless phone charging, an eight-speaker Bose audio system, and Hyundai’s Digital Key, which allows smartphone access to the vehicle.

The Limited trim, while foregoing some of the N Line's sporty visual cues, retains its luxury and tech features. It includes automated parking, a 360-degree camera system, blind-spot cameras, and front, side and rear parking sensors with reverse automatic braking. Additionally, the Limited adds a hands-free power liftgate, synthetic leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and soft-touch interior trim.
