BMW has done the homologation tests required for a fully electric car in China and Europe at the same time. After more than 340 hours of various tests and over 7700 kilometres travelled, the homologation was completed in four weeks. The results have been sent to relevant authorities around the world so that the BMW iX3 electric car can be type-approved for the various markets.

The BMW iX3 was first shown as a concept car in 2018. Last winter, the prototype was tested to its fullest in the Arctic landscape in Arjeplog, Sweden, along with the prototypes of the BMW i4 and BMW iNEXT.

The BMW iX3 gets a range of over 440 km (WTLP test cycle) from a battery with 74 kWh.
