Ford unveiled the new Mustang Mach-E to the European public for the first time today at the “Go Electric” event in London. With the European Roadshow, Ford wants to inform consumers about the path to an electrified future. In addition, 1,000 charging stations are to be installed at European company locations over the next three years.
The “Go Electric” roadshow is an interactive experience that aims to reduce any reservations about electromobility and to help consumers decide on electrified vehicles based on well-founded knowledge.
Ford Mustang Mach-E comes with two battery options, with rear or all-wheel drive, and different power levels on the European market. The price starts at 46,900 euros.
The 4.71 meters long, 1.88 meters wide and 1.60-meter electric car could already be configured and reserved for a deposit of 1,000 euros. At the market launch there was also a special “First Edition”. The reservation quota for the "First Edition" has now been exhausted.
Ford Mustang Mach-E buyers who make reservations this year will get a free one-year subscription to FordPass app services. The well-known charging service " Ford Charging Solutions " is not only available to buyers of a Mach-E but can be used by all owners of a purely electric vehicle or a plug-in hybrid from Ford. However, prices for the charging service have not yet been mentioned.
Ford will set up 1,000 charging stations for employees at European company locations over the next three years.
"The Mustang Mach-E makes electrification attractive in every way," said Roelant de Waard, vice president, marketing, sales & service, Ford of Europe. "This is the mustang for a new generation - customers can already order it online, configure it, and they can even arrange delivery."
Ford is investing over $ 11 billion in electrifying its own car models worldwide. Ford plans to offer a total of 18 electrified models in Europe by the end of 2021.
The current strategy includes the 48-volt hybrids Ford Fiesta, Puma, Focus, Kuga, Transit, Transit Custom and the Tourneo Custom. Ford wants to offer the Mondeo, Kuga, S-Max and Galaxy as a full hybrid. The Explorer, Kuga, Transit Custom and Tourneo Custom complete the portfolio as a plug-in hybrid.
Only the Mustang Mach-E, the Transit and an unknown light commercial vehicle will be purely electric.
