The Skoda Enyaq iV, the first electric SUV of the Czech brand, will be built on the MEB platform (the same as Volkswagen ID.3) and will arrive on the market in 2021. Before this date, the Czech company will continue the cycle of tests on prototypes.

Skoda has planned over two million kilometers that will be covered on tracks of different natures and thousands of hours in fatigue tests and climatic chambers. Skoda Enyaq's tests will take place in the five continents, where both cold climates and the scorching heat of the desert are expected.

The Skoda Enyaq will be available in both rear-wheel drive and 4x4 all-wheel drive.

The first will be available with a synchronous motor of 148, 179, or 204 horsepower, which can be powered by batteries of 82 kWh (500 km of autonomy), 62 kWh (390 km of autonomy) and 55 kWh (350 km of autonomy).

The second (4x4 all-wheel drive) adds an asynchronous electric motor to the front end: the additional 61 or 102 HP brings the total power to 265 or 306 HP respectively. In the last case, we are talking about the RS version, credited with a sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in just 6.2 seconds and a maximum speed of 180 km / h.

For charging the Skoda Enyaq iV it will be possible to use, in addition to a domestic socket, columns in alternating current up to 11 kW, or direct current, up to 125 kW. In the latter case, the accumulator goes from 10% to 80% in less than 50 minutes, while the most common alternate sockets will fill up in 6-8 hours. The Enyaq versions with smaller batteries will have less powerful chargers as standard: 7.2 kW in alternating current and 50 or 100 kW in continuous.

The Czech manufacturer will launch 10 models with an electric motor of the iV family by the end of 2022.

The new Skoda Enyaq will also be the first model of the MEB platform not made in Germany (production will begin at the end of 2020 in the factory in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic).
