The new Hyundai Ioniq 6 electric car has a range of 614km

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is one of the most efficient electric cars on the market, with a WLTP range of 614 kilometers. The Ioniq 6's ultra-low aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.21 and the E-GMP design of Hyundai Motor Group both contribute to its remarkable range and performance. When sales of the Ioniq 6 begin at the beginning of 2023, it will be one of the most energy-efficient electric cars on the market, with a WLTP-rated energy usage of only 13.9 kWh/100 km.

From the beginning of the Ioniq 6's development, Hyundai Motor Company's Head of the Sub-Mid Project Management Center, Jae Ho Huh, set out to make an electric vehicle with a market-leading range. To establish ourselves as the industry standard, Hyundai is committed to providing unmatched EV performance and ownership satisfaction.

Hyundai Motor Group's Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and the electric car's ultra-low drag contribute significantly to the vehicle's excellent performance and range. E-GMP provides maximum electrical performance, including 800V ultra-fast charging that may add up to 351 km of range in just 15 minutes (10% to 80% in roughly 18 minutes). The 400V charging standard is built-in into the platform, so no extra parts or adapters are required.

The electric car uses E-GMP to its advantage by providing a class-leading long wheelbase of 2,950mm. The Ioniq 6's cutting-edge Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology allows it to double as a mobile office or charging station. A feature that allows for charging electronic devices for use in situations like camping or other outdoor projects expands the range of possible applications to meet the needs of a wide variety of consumers.

To increase the Ioniq 6's all-electric range, Hyundai Motor invested much in aerodynamic design and engineering. The vehicle has one of the lowest drag coefficients in its class, at only 0.21.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is one of the world's most stylish cars because of its sleek exterior and innovative design features, including the active air flap, wheel air curtains, integrated rear spoiler, and wheel gap reduction. Particularly beneficial to aerodynamics are wheel gap reducers, which fill the area between the front bumper and the tires. Using this technology for the first time in a Hyundai vehicle, the company's Electrified Streamliner can increase passenger comfort and counteract the aerodynamic disadvantages of its relatively short front overhang.
