Polestar, the electric performance brand from Volvo, has just unveiled its latest creation: the Polestar 4, a sleek two-door coupe that promises to deliver thrilling driving dynamics and impressive range. The electric car, expected to go on sale in 2024, is based on the same platform as the Polestar 2 electric sedan but has a lower and wider stance, a longer hood, and a more aggressive design.
The Polestar 4 is not just a pretty face, though. It also packs some serious power under its sculpted hood. The car will be available with two battery options: a 75 kWh pack that offers around 300 miles of range and a 100 kWh pack that can go up to 400 miles on a single charge. Both versions will have dual electric motors that produce a combined output of 408 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque, enabling the car to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than five seconds.
But the Polestar 4 is not just about straight-line speed. Thanks to its advanced chassis technology, it also aims to deliver a refined and engaging driving experience. The car will feature adaptive dampers, torque vectoring, four-wheel steering, and an optional performance package that adds Brembo brakes, Öhlins suspension, and forged wheels. The car will also have a dedicated track mode that adjusts the settings for optimal performance on the circuit.
The interior of the Polestar 4 is equally impressive, combining luxury and technology in a minimalist and elegant way. The car will have a spacious cabin with four seats wrapped in vegan leather and recycled materials. The dashboard will be dominated by a large touchscreen that runs on Google’s Android Automotive OS, offering access to various apps and services and Polestar’s own digital assistant. The electric car will also have a head-up display, wireless charging, Harman Kardon sound system, and a panoramic sunroof.
