Seat presents its first electric scooter concept. It is simply called e-Scooter, and will officially arrive on the market next year. It will be equivalent to a 125 cc scooter with a combustion engine.
Seat e-Scooter has a maximum power of 15 HP and a torque of 240 Nm; 0-50 km / h acceleration occurs in 3.8 seconds, while top speed is 100 km / h. The replaceable batteries guarantee an autonomy of 115 km.
To charge the vehicle you can connect it directly to the electrical outlet. According to Seat's studies, the average urban distance of this type of vehicle is between 10 and 20 km per day, so it is theorizable to fully recharge the batteries once a week.
The scooter will be sold starting next year, as we said, but prices have not yet been announced. Seat also plans to offer it as a rental, as part of a ride-sharing project: the first city involved will be Barcelona. eScooter is made in collaboration with Silence, a Spanish company specialized in the construction of motorcycles and electric scooters.
The battery is a pack of lithium-ion cells produced exclusively by Silence itself, with integrated electronics and a removable scheme with a trolley system patented by the Catalan firm. The estimated cost for each recharge is estimated at 0.7 euros per 100 km.
The SEAT e-Scooter and all the necessary infrastructure around it will be developed by a new business unit called SEAT Urban Mobility.
Luca de Meo, President of SEAT, has been in charge of unveiling the SEAT e-Scooter, who has assured that "this unit will allow us to orient ourselves to the new mobility needs", also pointing out that the Spanish brand is the micro mobility laboratory within the Volkswagen Group , doing work for other companies in the parent company.
