The Townstar is a new compact electric van from Nissan

The Nissan Townstar electric van replaces the Nissan e-NV200. The Townstar van is also available with a petrol engine. It has a power output of 90 kW (123 PS), produces 245 Nm of torque, and should have a range of up to 285 kilometers when combined with a 44 kWh battery pack; the official WLTP evaluation is still awaiting. Nissan also promises sophisticated energy management and effective battery cooling in the e-transporter. DC columns with a charging capability of 75 kW can charge 80 percent of the battery capacity in 42 minutes. In addition, the Nissan Townstar electric van includes an onboard charger with either 11 or 22 kW for charging with alternating current.

Nissan stresses an "arsenal of support devices," such as a crosswind helper and trailer stability. There is also an intelligent emergency braking system with pedestrian and bicycle detection, an integrated junction assistant, a lane maintaining and blind spot assistant, traffic sign recognition, intelligent cruise control, and a parking assistant. Cameras give a 360-degree all-round vision with the "Around View Monitor" to ease parking and maneuvering. Those who choose the Townstar's completely electric variant also get the ProPilot driving assistance system. The technology allows autonomous driving on highways: the van tracks cars ahead of it, accelerates and brakes independently to a stop, and stays in the center of the lane.

The Nissan Townstar is completely networked, with a smartphone connection via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in addition to the E-Call emergency call system. The E version additionally has enhanced "Connected Services." The central eight-inch touchscreen controls the connectivity and infotainment features connected to a ten-inch digital instrument display behind the steering wheel.

The Nissan Townstar Kombi has 775 liters of storage capacity. Loading is made more accessible by a lower loading sill than on SUV and crossover versions.
