The BMW X2 xDrive25e plug-in hybrid is launched this summer. The modern design is refreshed with small, subtle details. LED headlights with new features replace the previous fog lights.
The powertrain is a 3-cylinder internal combustion engine developing 125 hp coupled with an electric motor of 70 kW / 95 hp. The four-wheel-drive is achieved by the gasoline engine delivering power to the front wheels, while the electric motor supplies the power to the rear wheels. In total, it produces 220 hp and a torque of 385 Nm.
The electric range is up to 53 km. The X2 PHEV's electric motor is powered by a 10 kWh battery. Charging 0-80% takes almost 2 and a half hours on a wallbox and about 5 hours on a household outlet.
0-100 km / h is done in 6.8 seconds and top speed is reached at 195 km / h. Electrically, the X2 plug-in hybrid can run at up to 135 km / h.
The conversion of the X2 to PHEV produced some changes to the german SUV. The luggage compartment volume of 410 liters increases to 1290 liters when the rear seats fold down. In order to optimize both air resistance and balance in the car, the BMW X2 xDrive25e is lowered by 10 mm compared to other BMW X2 models.
Production of the BMW X2 xDrive25e starts in July with an estimated starting price of 41,998 euros.
The standard equipment of the X2 xDrive25e includes 17-inch alloy wheels, 2-zone automatic climate control, and parking.
