KGM Musso EV (2025): Price, Range, Charging, Towing, Specs

KGM right now

Electric pickups are no longer rare. Most target high prices and high outputs. KGM Musso EV takes a different path. It goes for value, practicality, and simple tech. It targets fleets, trades, and families. It also brings LFP battery durability and long warranties. That combination changes purchase math for many buyers.

The short take

KGM builds a compact electric pickup with an 80.6 kWh LFP pack, a 207 hp front motor, and optional dual-motor 4WD. It claims WLTP 420 km in 2WD and 379 km in 4WD. It tows 1,800 kg and carries up to 500 kg in Europe. Prices start at €41,990 in Germany (about $49,500). In the Netherlands, trims span €43,990–€52,990 (about $51,900–$62,400). DC fast charging targets 10–80% in ~36 minutes. Equipment is work-friendly, not flashy.

Platform, powertrain, and battery

KGM bases the truck on a unibody architecture derived from the Torres EVX. That reduces weight and improves on-road comfort. It also sets the Musso EV apart from ladder-frame rivals.

The electric drive starts with a front motor rated at 152.2 kW (207 hp) and 339 Nm. A dual-motor 4WD setup is optional in many markets. KGM lists 0–100 km/h in 9.2 s (2WD) or 8.0 s (4WD). Top speed reaches 162–177 km/h, depending on drive. These figures cover daily work and highway duty.

The battery uses LFP chemistry. LFP improves cycle life and thermal stability. KGM also fits battery preconditioning to keep charging times consistent in cold weather. On-board AC charging is 11 kW. DC fast charging supports up to 120 kW, with a stated 10–80% in ~36 minutes.

Range, efficiency, and charging times

The WLTP numbers are straightforward. 2WD lists 420 km combined and 546 km city. 4WD lists 379 km combined and 466 km city. Those variations track with added weight and traction losses. Daily users should plan for lower motorway figures, as usual.

Charging summary

  • AC 11 kW (0–100%): about 10 h 20 m.
  • DC up to 120 kW (10–80%): about 36–46 m depending on site output.
  • Portable charger (0–100%): about 28.5 h. Useful for rare cases.

Practical tech helps at job sites. V2L supplies 110/230V-style power for tools, fridges, or lights. The feature is available across trims. Pack capacity supports light site work during the day.

Payload, towing, and bed

KGM targets real work, not brag sheets. The towing capacity reaches 1,800 kg braked. Unbraked towing lists 750 kg. Maximum payload reaches ~500 kg in several EU specs. That aligns with the truck’s compact footprint and unibody base. The bed length is about 1.35 m. Users can configure tie-downs and accessories for daily tasks.

Key exterior dimensions matter for parking and job access. Length 5,160 mm, width 1,920 mm, height about 1,750 mm, wheelbase 3,150 mm. Ground clearance sits at 181 mm. The truck posts a 12.4 m turning circle. That helps in tight alleys and yards.

Trims, equipment, and safety

KGM sells Bronze, Platinum, Titanium, and Blackline trims. 2WD and 4WD are available. A heat pump comes standard on most trims. It can be added to the Bronze 2WD. Interior equipment spans a 12.3 inch instrument cluster and 12.3 inch infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and heated steering appear on upper trims. Around View Monitoring arrives on select grades.

Active safety is broad. You get AEBS, lane keeping, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise, and fatigue detection. Front, side, curtain, center, and driver knee airbags are included. That coverage fits family and fleet duty.

Warranty package stands out. Battery: 10 years or 1,000,000 km. Vehicle: 7 years or 150,000 km. Corrosion: 6 years. Paint: 2 years. That reduces long-term risk for high-mileage users.

Real-world fit: who should buy this truck

Urban trades want range and bed utility without oversized footprints. KGM Musso EV fits that brief. It parks easily. It carries gear. It tows small trailers. Contractors can power tools from V2L during jobs. Fleets can rotate drivers without a learning curve.

Rural deliveries need all-weather traction and efficient runs. 4WD covers rough tracks and winter roads. AC 11 kW can refill at depots overnight. Day shifts can top up at DC 120 kW when needed.

Families want space and safety. The double cab seats five. Safety coverage is broad. Running costs stay low with the LFP pack and long warranty coverage.

What early reviews say

Independent drives in Europe report a competent ride and quiet operation. Reviewers also praise cabin tech and straightforward controls. The brand remains less known, but the product feels sorted. That sentiment tracks with the specification sheet.

Where it beats rivals, and where it does not

Advantages

  • Price undercuts many electric pickups in Europe. €41,990 in Germany sets a new floor.
  • Warranty reduces long-term risk for owners and fleets.
  • LFP chemistry favors cycle life and stability.
  • V2L adds real utility at sites and camps.
  • Unibody improves ride and day-to-day comfort.

Trade-offs

  • Payload trails body-on-frame rivals that carry far more.
  • Range drops on motorways, as with most EV pickups.
  • Brand familiarity remains limited in several markets.

Equipment checklist buyers should confirm

Use this list during dealer visits. Keep the talk focused and fast.

  • Drive: Confirm 2WD or 4WD availability and lead times.
  • Heat pump: Verify inclusion on your trim. Add it to Bronze 2WD if needed.
  • DC charging curve: Ask for the peak and average rates to 80%.
  • V2L adapter: Confirm connector type and rated output.
  • Tow package: Check wiring, brake controller support, and rated hitch load.
  • Winter tires: Specify sizes for 17 inch wheels.
  • Over-the-air updates: Confirm capability and schedule.
  • Warranty terms: Get the 10-year/1,000,000 km battery coverage in writing.

Cost planning: charging and ownership

Plan home charging first. The 11 kW AC charger pairs well with a three-phase wallbox. Many EU homes can support that with modest upgrades. Frequent DC use costs more. Keep most charging at home or depot to control costs.

For fleets, the warranty coverage matters. Battery life projections reduce depreciation risk. The LFP pack also tolerates frequent partial charging. That fits stop-start duty cycles.

Insurance and service should come in below heavy-duty rivals. Consumables remain typical for this class. Brake wear drops with strong regeneration. Software updates may add driver aids over time.

Simple buying guidance

Pick 2WD if you work mostly on paved roads. Add 4WD if you tow in winter or drive unpaved routes. Choose Platinum or higher if you value heated seats, Around View cameras, and a heat pump standard. Use the table below to match use cases.

Use case to spec

  • City contractor: 2WD, heat pump, V2L, bed liner.
  • Rural delivery: 4WD, winter tires, tow pack.
  • Family + weekend towing: 4WD, safety pack, all-weather mats.
  • Fleet pool truck: 2WD Bronze with added heat pump and telematics.

What we will watch next

Two questions remain. First, final DC charging curve details for each market. Second, confirmed payload figures for every trim and axle rating. We also expect regional updates on dual-motor power output. Those figures will drive fleet TCO and route planning.

Bottom line

KGM Musso EV hits a clear target. Lower entry price, solid range, usable towing, and long warranties anchor the case. Daily users want trucks that work and charge fast. This one does both without luxury pricing. If you value practical EV trucking, put the Musso EV on your shortlist.
