The French from PSA continues the offensive in the European segment of electric cars, it seems that soon it will have the most diversified offer of electric vehicles. The new surprise is the new generation Citroen C4, which has adopted a completely new philosophy, becoming a hatchback and for the first time - 100% electric!

The Citroen e-C4 has switched to an extended version of the CMP modular platform, which is also used by the new Peugeot 208, Peugeot 2008Opel Corsa, and e-Mokka. It follows that regardless of engine and equipment level, the Citroen C4 will have only front-wheel drive and electrical systems taken from colleagues in the company, who started earlier.

The front axle wheels are driven by a 136 hp and 260 Nm electric motor. It is powered by a 50 kWh battery, which in the case of Citroen offers a range of up to 350 km, according to WLTP. In that case, the Citroën ë-C4 - 100% electric hatchback can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 9.7 seconds, and the maximum speed is limited to 150 km / h.

There will also be classic models with thermal engines, which are also common with Peugeot and Opel. The petrol engines available are the 1.2-litre PureTech unit, which offers 100, 130 or 155 hp, depending on the chosen version. Buyers of diesel engines will have at their disposal the 1.5-litre BlueHDi unit, which can develop 110 or 130 hp. As standard, all engines are coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox, or to the 8-speed automatic, delivered by Aisin.
