The electric heavy truck Mercedes-Benz eActros is now operating in everyday traffic for DB Schenker in Leipzig. The electric truck, which has a total weight of 25 tons, runs in the inner city and rolls about 100 km a day. Electric trucks will soon become an increasingly common sight in distribution traffic in cities, and development is super fast.
The drivers appreciate the electric truck powerful torque that comes from the very first lap, and that they get a much quieter working environment.
The electric heavy truck Mercedes-Benz eActros is powered by two electric motors of 126 kW / 485 Nm each, which are located at each rear wheel hub. It gives a total power of about 337 hp. Maximum torque on the rear axle is 22 kNm.
The 240 kWh batteries can be quickly charged with up to 150 kW (DC), which gives a charging time of about 1.5 hours.
