The Chinese company BYD has presented the K12A, an electric bus with a total length of 27 meters, which ensures that it is the "longest electric bus in the world".

The K12A is the world's first 27-m pure electric bi-articulated bus that has been presented at the BYD headquarters in Shenzhen (China).

The K12A bus is designed for 250 passengers and develops a maximum speed of 70 km / h (40mph). It has a range of 186 miles on a single full charge. The manufacturer claims that the K12A is also the world's first four-wheel drive electric bus capable of smoothly switching between full and rear-wheel drive. This allows you to move more efficiently depending on changes in the terrain and also reduces the overall energy consumption.
