Renault has started sales of a new generation of the all-electric Zoe 52kWh hatchback. Europeans will be the first to order their electric car at a price starting from € 20,000 (in Germany, excluding the cost of renting a battery). But they will not be able to get it until 2020.

Renault positions Zoe as an ideal city car with compact dimensions and the cost of an affordable electric car, which makes it attractive for drivers who do not need a large power reserve or fast charging, available in other, more expensive electric cars.

2020 Renault Zoe electric car comes with a 52 kWh battery that supports fast charging with direct current up to 50 kW and provides a range of 395 km through the WLTP cycle. AC charging can be done at up to 22kW, which would provide a fully charged battery in less than three hours.

The new Zoe will be available in two power versions: the base model with an 80 kW engine, and the “charged” version with a 100 kW engine and 245 Nm of torque, which will accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 10 seconds.

Renault will offer three different finishes for the new electric car, with the possibility of a basic Zen level at a price of € 19,000. Other options will receive an Intens finish from € 21,900 and a high-end Edition One from € 25,500. The car’s interior will include a 9.3-inch multimedia screen that communicates with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Zoe will also include a set of safety features that are now becoming the standard for most new electric vehicles - oncoming lane protection, blind-spot monitoring, parking assist and emergency braking assistance.
