Audi will launch later this year the e-tron 50 quattro, a new version of the electric SUV which will have a power of 313 hp. Its 71 kWh battery will provide a range of more than 300 kilometers in the WLTP cycle. For now, there is no confirmed price, although the manufacturer says that it will be less than 70,000 euros.

For a few months, it is known that Audi is preparing new sports versions of the e-tron. The best known is the Audi e-tron Sportback. In addition, a possible future Audi e-tron S, more sporty, will offer greater power than the conventional model thanks to the incorporation of a third engine in the rear axle, where it usually only has one. However, the German manufacturer has surprised by the presentation of the e-tron 50 Quattro, which is incorporated into the range as the access version, with less power and autonomy, and also at a lower price.

The new Audi e-tron 50 Quattro will be manufactured at the Audi factory in Brussels.

As its name suggests, the Audi e-tron 50 quattro retains full traction thanks to two electric motors that offer a total power of 230 kW (313 hp), compared to 300 kW (402 hp) of the version that was known until now. Despite this reduction, they are able to send a 540 Nm torque to the wheels and accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 7 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 190 km / h electronically limited.

The engines are powered by a battery of 324 prismatic cells combined in 27 modules that store 71 kWh, sufficient to provide a range of more than 300 km in the WLTP cycle, which means consumption of 23.6 kWh / 100 km. According to the manufacturer, in this version in addition to reducing the weight of the vehicle, the propulsion system has been recalibrated, and different optimizations have been included in the high voltage system.

The efficiency assistant, which is part of the standard equipment, includes a prediction system based on terrain orography, speed and battery charge parameters to activate the front engine when necessary. It also helps the driver to adopt a driving style that favors energy savings. The system uses radar sensors, video camera images, navigation system data and Car-to-X information to detect the traffic environment and route. In combination with the adaptive cruise assistant, the efficiency assistant can also accelerate and brake the electric SUV in a predictive way.

The Audi e-tron 50 quattro supports fast recharging.
