The MINI brand has always been synonymous with driving funinnovation, and individuality. Now, the brand is entering a new era with its latest generation of models, which are all electricdigital, and distinctive. The new MINI family consists of three models: the new MINI Cooper, the new MINI Countryman, and the upcoming MINI Aceman. These models offer the hallmark MINI driving fun with an all-electric drivetrain and an immersive digital user experience. In this article, we will take a closer look at the features and benefits of the new MINI family and how they reflect the tradition and vision of the brand.

The New MINI Cooper: The Original Reinvented

The new MINI Cooper is the fifth generation of the iconic 3-door model that started the MINI story in 1959. The new MINI Cooper retains its classic round headlights and octagonal grille but features a modern and purist design that focuses on the essentials. The new MINI Cooper is available in three variants: the base Cooper, the sporty Cooper S, and the all-electric Cooper SE.

The new MINI Cooper SE is the most powerful and efficient variant, with an output of 218 hp and a range of 250 miles determined in the WLTP test cycle. The new MINI Cooper SE also boasts a state-of-the-art technology package based on the know-how of the BMW Group in the area of software development. The new MINI Operating System 8 enables over-the-air software upgrades, a full-fledged voice assistant, and a customizable digital instrument cluster. The new MINI Cooper SE also features seats in high-quality Vescin artificial leather, while all textiles and yarns for the seat, knitted surfaces, vehicle headliner, and floor are made from recycled materials.

The new MINI Cooper SE is eco-friendly and fun to drive. It has a low center of gravity and a balanced weight distribution, which enhance its agility and stability. It also has four driving modes: Sport, Mid, Green, and Green+. These modes allow the driver to adjust the steering feel, acceleration response, brake regeneration, and climate control according to their preferences and driving conditions.

The New MINI Countryman: The Adventurer Made in Germany

The new MINI Countryman is the first MINI "Made in Germany," as it will be built at the BMW Group Plant in Leipzig starting at the end of 2023. The new MINI Countryman is also the largest model in the new MINI family, offering more space, comfort, and safety for its passengers. The new MINI Countryman has grown in external dimensions and features wider wheel arches, enhancing its crossover appeal.

The new MINI Countryman is also fully electric, guaranteeing locally emission-free driving and emphasizing the exceptional position of the MINI brand in its segment. The new MINI Countryman is available in two hybrid variants: the base MINI Countryman Hybrid and the performance-oriented Countryman Hybrid Max. The latter has an output of 335 hp and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.9 seconds. The high-voltage batteries for the all-electric MINI Countryman come from the plant's own production facilities, which are expanding their e-component production capacity by eight production lines by 2024.

The new MINI Countryman is also equipped with advanced driver assistance systems that ensure high safety and convenience. These include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, lane departure warning, park assist with a rearview camera, head-up display, and collision warning with brake intervention. The new MINI Countryman also offers a spacious interior with versatile storage options and a panoramic sunroof that creates a bright, airy atmosphere.

The New MINI Family: Tailor Made for Urban Target Groups

The new MINI family is consistently pursuing its path towards an all-electric model range by 2030, following the high demand for its locally emission-free vehicles. The new MINI family is tailor-made for urban target groups worldwide, thanks to its electrified go-kart feeling, immersive user experience, and responsible attitude. The new MINI family also reflects the tradition and innovation of the brand, which has reinvented itself repeatedly without neglecting its origins.

The new MINI family will debut at Munich's IAA (International Motor Show) from September 5 to 10, 2023. There, visitors will be able to experience the new models first-hand and learn more about their features and benefits. The new MINI family is expected to hit the market in early 2024, with prices starting from $29,900 for the base MINI Cooper, $34,900 for the base MINI Countryman Hybrid, and $39,900 for the MINI Cooper SE.
