The New Peugeot e-Traveller Combines Allure, Emotion and Excellence for Transport Professionals

Peugeot e-Traveller

The electric vehicle market is growing rapidly as more and more drivers and businesses are looking for zero-emission mobility solutions that are efficient, comfortable, safe, and elegant. One of the latest models to join this trend is the new Peugeot e-Traveller, a multipurpose vehicle that meets the needs of transport professionals who want to offer their customers a premium travel experience.

What is the Peugeot E-Traveller?

The Peugeot e-Traveller is a fully electric version of the Peugeot Traveller, a spacious and versatile vehicle that can accommodate up to nine passengers and their luggage. The E-Traveller is part of Peugeot’s electrification strategy, which aims to offer an electric variant of every model in its range by 2025.

The e-Traveller is available in two battery options: a 50 kWh battery that provides a range of up to 143 miles (230 km) according to the WLTP and a 75 kWh battery that extends the range to up to 217 miles (350 km). The batteries are located under the floor, so they do not compromise the interior space or the vehicle's loading capacity.

The e-Traveller can be charged in different ways, depending on the power source and the time available. It can be plugged into a standard domestic socket, a wallbox, or a public charging station. It can also support fast charging up to 100 kW, which can replenish 80% of the battery in 30 minutes for the 50 kWh version and in 45 minutes for the 75 kWh version.

What are the main features of the Peugeot E-Traveller?

The Peugeot e-Traveller is designed to offer transport professionals a high level of comfort, safety, and style while also being environmentally friendly and cost-effective. Some of the main features of the e-Traveller are:

  • Allure: The Peugeot E-Traveller has a new design that is both stylish and rewarding. It features the Peugeot signature front grille, with a dichroic lion emblem that changes color depending on the angle of view. It also has a specific monogram, “e-Traveller,” on the front fenders and on the tailgate. The E-Traveller is available in four colors: Bianca White, Nera Black, Cumulus Grey, and Tourmaline Orange. It also offers a choice of 17-inch alloy wheels or 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
  • Emotion: The Peugeot E-Traveller has the very best technology for comfort and safety. It has a 10-inch touchscreen that allows access to the navigation system, the multimedia system, the phone, and the vehicle settings. It also has a digital instrument panel that displays the driving information, such as the speed, the range, the energy flow, and the driving mode. The E-Traveller has three driving modes: Eco, Normal and Power, which adjust the power and torque according to the driving conditions and the battery level. The E-Traveller also has a range of driver assistance systems, such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, active safety brake, and head-up display.
  • Excellence: The Peugeot E-Traveller is connected and efficient, with an electric motor that delivers 136 hp and 260 Nm of torque. It has a top speed of 80 mph (130 km/h) and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 13.1 seconds for the 50 kWh version and in 13.4 seconds for the 75 kWh version. The E-Traveller also has a low cost of ownership, as it benefits from lower maintenance costs, lower energy costs, and lower taxes compared to a conventional vehicle. The E-Traveller also has a warranty of eight years or 100,000 miles, for the battery and a warranty of five years, or 62,000 miles, for the electric powertrain.

How does the Peugeot e-Traveller compare to other electric vehicles?

The Peugeot E-Traveller is a unique offering in the electric vehicle market, as it is one of the few models that can accommodate up to nine passengers and offer a long range and fast charging capability. However, there are some other electric vehicles that can be considered as alternatives or competitors to the E-Traveller, depending on the needs and preferences of the customers. Here is a comparison table that shows some of the main characteristics of the E-Traveller and some of its rivals:

Model Base Price Battery Size Range Charging Time Passenger Capacity Cargo Space
Peugeot E-Traveller $54,000 50 kWh or 75 kWh 143 miles or 217 miles 30 minutes or 45 minutes (80%) Up to 9 640 L to 4,900 L
Tesla Model X $89,990 100 kWh 360 miles 15 minutes (175 miles) Up to 7 2,487 L
Mercedes-Benz EQV $72,000 90 kWh 213 miles 45 minutes (80%) Up to 8 1,030 L to 4,630 L
Nissan e-NV200 $38,000 40 kWh 124 miles 40 minutes (80%) Up to 7 1,500 L to 4,200 L

As the table shows, the Peugeot E-Traveller has a lower base price than the Tesla Model X and the Mercedes-Benz EQV, but a higher base price than the Nissan e-NV200. However, the E-Traveller offers more range and faster charging than the e-NV200, and more passenger capacity and cargo space than the Model X and the EQV. Therefore, the E-Traveller can be seen as a balanced and attractive option for transport professionals who want to offer their customers a premium and eco-friendly travel experience.
