After years of unchallenged dominance in the electric car market, Tesla finally has some competition in the electric cars market. But, it is still challenging to make up a list of electric cars with greater autonomy and at the same time to offer a minimum of variety, because today Tesla is undoubtedly the company that has refined its electric propulsion technology to the best.
In the first place, we obviously find Tesla: the top of the range model for 2021 is the Tesla Model S Plaid, whose first deliveries are expected by autumn 2021.
1. Tesla Model S Plaid
The 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid is equipped with a real 90 kWh battery, enough to allow up to 628 km of range in the WLTP cycle. The price is the highest on this list: 120,000 euros. The Tesla Model S Plaid+ is the first Tesla with 3 electric motors: 2 in the back and 1 in the front and reach a speed of over 300 km / h.
2. Ford Mustang Mach-E
The new Ford Mustang Mach-E in the Extended Range version is in second place. The new Ford has touched a nerve of Mustang fans, but despite the controversial name the electric car seems to be very strong and is gathering support from owners and the press. The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is sold at a price starting at 56,700 euros for the Extended Range version. This electric car from Ford is able to travel 610 km in the WLTP cycle.
In third place, fourth and five-place we find 3 electric SUV models from the Volkswagen Group, all based on the proprietary MEB platform and offered with very similar configurations.
3. Skoda Enyaq iV
In third place, the Skoda Enyaq iV 80 with an 80 kWh battery should be able to offer up to 536 km of autonomy in the WLTP cycle. The 2021 Skoda Enyaq iV is on sale starting at 46,000 euros.
4. Volkswagen ID.4
The Volkswagen ID.4 Life Pro Performance is a fully electric SUV capable of covering 520 km on the WLTP cycle thanks to a 77 kWh battery. The Volkswagen ID.4 Pro Performance Life has a price starting at 43,700 euros.
5. Audi Q4 e-tron
The top version of the Audi Q4 e-tron 50 has two electric motors that develop a total of 299 hp and 460 Nm. The most affordable Audi Q4 e-tron that you can order now starts at 45,000 euros.
