Hyundai Motor is releasing a lot of details about the new Santa Fe, coming to Europe as early as fall 2020. The car is launched with a number of new and advanced features, interiors with premium aspirations, bigger space, and new electrified powertrains.

The new Santa Fe represents a major milestone for Hyundai. With a brand new platform, new gearboxes and new engine technology, the car is cleaner, faster and more efficient than ever.

The new Santa Fe is the first model available in Europe with Hyundai's new "SmartStream" hybrid and rechargeable powertrains.

The Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid version goes on sale around the turn of the year. The model comes with the 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine combined with an electric motor of 66.9 kW. It gives a system power of 265 horsepower and a torque of 350 Nm.

Another hybrid version is based on Hyundai's new 1.6-liter "SmartStream" T-GDi turbo petrol engine, combined with an electric motor of 44.2 kW. This model is available with both front and four-wheel drive and has a system power of 230 horsepower and a torque of 350 Nm.

Both hybrid cars come with a newly developed 6-speed automatic gearbox, which provides faster gear changes and even better fuel efficiency.

Santa Fe is already known to be spacious and practical, but this is taken a step further in the new model. The new platform ensures optimal space utilization, even with the new electrified powertrains. The car's length, width and height have been increased from its predecessor.

- Length 4,785mm (+ 15mm)

- Width 1,900mm (+ 10mm)

- Height 1.685mm (+ 5mm)

The Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid gets connected online services with Bluelink. This includes Hyundai LIVE Services, which includes traffic information, parking updates, gasoline prices and real-time weather. The new Hyundai Santa Fe also gets wireless support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The wireless charging of mobile phones has been upgraded with faster charging of up to 15 watts.

The new Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid model will be available in Europe from the autumn.
